Before getting into the real estate business fulltime, I became familiar with the nuts and bolts of real estate investing by buying and selling property almost everywhere I have lived, which, in addition to my home state of Michigan, includes Texas and New Mexico, and prime resort, recreation, and retirement markets in Florida and Colorado, markets that are driven by forces similar to those that shape the real estate market here in Havasu, so needless to say, I understand the underlying economics of the local market.  In addition, my involvement with real estate investing, exposed me to a variety of renovation, restoration, and remodeling projects, and it was those experiences that ultimately lead me to starting my own  remodeling and construction company's in Colorado, which is where, in 1996, I officially began my career in real estate.

Initially I worked for one of the big "Brand Name" agencies, but found that environment not to my liking, so I ventured out on my own, and I started my own real estate company based on the belief that real estate is first, and foremost, about people investing in real estate, and that if someone "SELLS" you a property, it is usually to their advantage, not yours!  I also believe that you make your money in real estate “WHEN YOU BUY”, not when you sell, which is merely when you realize the benefits of having done your homework prior to purchasing, thus, if you buy right, chances are good your purchase will prove to be a good investment, and will yield a nice return when you decide to sell.

However, if you make an unwise investment, then unless you find someone with more money than sense to bail you out, chances are equally as good that your investment will not yield the return on your investment, had you done your homework prior to purchasing, and that's where working with a real estate professional, works to your advantage, and selecting one who is motivated to act on your behalf, should be your "Top Priority", even prior to actively looking at property!
